Tesla announces a contest for the best fan video with prizes
Tesla has launched a global contest for brand fans where participants can create their own promotional video about the Model Y. The winner will receive a new Model Y, as well as a trip to Gigafactory Texas. To participate, you need to upload the video to YouTube and tag Tesla on social media.
The company, which previously avoided traditional advertising, is now actively engaging its supporters in brand promotion. This is the second such contest – the first one took place 8 years ago and was won by the famous YouTuber Marques Brownlee.
Prizes for winners
In addition to the grand prize in North America, other regions have their own awards. For example, in Asian countries, winners will receive credits in the Tesla Shop, and in Australia – a trip to Gigafactory with a Cybertruck test drive.
Participants must upload their videos by July 17, and the winners will be announced by August 16.
This contest is a well-thought-out marketing move. Tesla gets free content and additional attention on social media, while encouraging its community to be creative. Such initiatives could become a new stage in the brand’s communication with customers, especially against the backdrop of recent challenges for the company. At the same time, different conditions for different markets raise questions about fairness – some regions receive significantly less valuable prizes compared to the main car.
