In a world where Porsche 964 restomods no longer surprise anyone, one has to come up with something completely different to attract attention. And designer Khizil Salim, better known as The Kyza, understands this perfectly. His new project, called the 911-X, is not just an attempt to refresh the classic silhouette, but a radical departure from the very essence of a traditional Porsche.
Instead of smooth lines – angles and sharp creases. Instead of iconic round headlights – narrow LED strips in carbon frames, which vaguely resemble the nose of an old Nissan 240Z. Even the wheel arches, which usually make a car muscular and streamlined, have turned into rectangular “boxes”. The front end is accentuated by a massive splitter with “fins” and the HRE wheels with aero covers pushed outwards.
The side profile of the 911-X looks as if it was cut with a blade: a sharp crease stretches towards the double rear spoiler. At the rear, the associations are closer to the Singer DLS Turbo, but with its own fantastic styling. The highlight is the carbon rear window panel in the shape of an “X”, which, together with the fake side air intakes, creates a truly “sci-fi” atmosphere.
This is Kyza’s return to his gaming roots – he once created cars for Need for Speed, and later brought extreme ideas to life with the brand Live To Offend, which produces body kits for those who find conventional solutions boring. So, if there are Porsche 964 owners ready to sacrifice classic looks for the sake of experiment, theoretically, the 911-X could come to life not just in renders.
But even if that doesn’t happen, the project has already achieved its result. It fulfills its main mission – it makes you look, argue, and be amazed. Because the 911-X is not about tradition, it’s about courage and the search for new forms. And confusing it with any other car is simply impossible.
