Toyota Plans to Create a Land Cruiser-Style Minivan

Toyota May Release a Crossover-Styled Minivan

Japanese automaker Toyota is likely preparing to launch an unusual minivan, inspired by the 2023 X-Van Gear concept. Rumors suggest the model could debut in 2025-2026, offering a combination of minivan practicality and SUV design.

The platform for the new model will be the same base as the Noah and Voxy models, but with more square outlines, plastic body cladding, and increased ground clearance. The dimensions will remain similar – a length of 4,695 mm and a wheelbase of 2,850 mm.

Technical Features

Among the possible features are two-section sliding doors, the absence of a B-pillar for convenience, as well as a flexible three-row cabin layout. The interior will likely get a digital instrument panel and smart storage systems, although some of the concept’s futuristic elements may be simplified.

If this crossover-styled minivan does appear, it will occupy a niche similar to the Mitsubishi Delica D:5, which is very popular among adventure enthusiasts in Japan

The presumed powertrains include a 2.0-liter petrol engine or a 1.8-liter hybrid setup, both with an all-wheel-drive option. The estimated price in Japan is around ¥3.5 million ($23,500).

There is no official confirmation from Toyota yet, and Japanese media often publish rumors that are not always confirmed. However, if the project is realized, it could find its audience among families looking for a more versatile alternative to a classic minivan. Unfortunately, the likelihood of global export for this model remains low for now.
