Camry’s Popularity and the Newcomer to the Market
Although the Toyota Camry is no longer the huge success it once was, due to the global fascination with SUVs and crossovers, it remains one of the most popular models in the world: 593,000 units were sold in 2024. Aiming to support momentum and attract new buyers, the Japanese brand introduced the Camry Sprint Edition in India, which is based on the sedan’s hybrid platform.

Local Collaboration and Edition Features
The special edition is a product of Toyota Kirloskar Motor — a joint venture between Toyota and the Kirloskar Group, which is responsible for the sales and production of the brand’s vehicles in India. It features a unique design and additional dealer-installed accessories, adding a sporty flair to a rather conservative sedan.
Exterior with Two-Tone Finish
The most noticeable feature of the Camry Sprint Edition is the matte black coating on the hood, roof, pillars, and trunk, creating a striking two-tone appearance. Buyers can choose from one of five body colors: Emotional Red, Platinum White Pearl, Cement Grey, Precious Metal, or Dark Blue Metallic.
New black alloy wheels and a body kit complete the exterior changes. The body kit includes sharper front and rear bumpers, as well as a spoiler. So far, Toyota has only published one official image, so it is unclear whether these aerodynamic elements are identical to those of last year’s Camry Glorious Edition for China.
Unchanged Hybrid Powertrain
Unfortunately, the Sprint Edition did not receive any updates in performance or chassis compared to the standard Camry Hybrid. The model still uses a 2.5-liter hybrid system that produces a combined 227 hp (169 kW) and 221 Nm of torque. Unlike the American version, which is offered with all-wheel drive, the Indian model is front-wheel drive only.

Equipment and Technology
Like many special editions, the Sprint Edition focuses on equipment no less than on style. Standard features include a digital instrument cluster with two 12.3-inch screens, a 360-degree panoramic camera, a 10-way adjustable driver’s seat with lumbar support, ventilated front seats, wireless charging, a heads-up display, and the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 safety system.
Availability and Production
The Camry Hybrid Sprint Edition is already available for order in India at a price of ₹48.50 lakh (approximately $55,500). Interestingly, this price is exactly the same as the Hybrid Elegant trim, which remains the only alternative in the online configurator. Both versions are produced at the Toyota Kirloskar Motor plant in Bidadi exclusively for the local market.
This model demonstrates how manufacturers adapt global products to regional markets, offering unique versions that combine local preferences and technological capabilities. Despite the lack of technical updates, the emphasis on design and equipment may resonate with buyers looking for a more individual approach to choosing a car.
