This year is very successful for the global automotive industry. According to Focus2move, in the first half of 2018, 46.1 million new passenger cars were sold, which is 4.1% higher than the figure for the same period in 2017.
The Volkswagen Group continues to hold the leading position. In six months, it sold 5,589,682 cars worldwide.
The Renault-Nissan alliance rose to second place with 5,169,124 sold cars. Toyota, which was recently in first place, is now third (4,741,227 cars).
The fourth place is occupied by General Motors with 4,302,104 cars sold. The fifth position is held by Hyundai-Kia (3,692,949 cars).
