According to the results of 2022, Ukrainians started to buy hybrid and electric cars more frequently, while the demand for gasoline-powered cars decreased. Ultimately, cars with diesel engines also slightly lost their positions.
More specifically, in 2022, cars with gasoline engines covered 57% of the new passenger car market. Whereas a year earlier, 63% of buyers chose such cars. Over the year, the share of ‘diesels’ decreased by one percentage point – 23% compared to 24%. Cars with LPG also lost 1 point – only 1% of buyers last year purchased cars running on gas. At the same time, the share of hybrids increased from 10% in 2021 to 13% in 2022. Electric cars were chosen by 6% of new car buyers (in 2021 – 1%).
