Toyota GR GT hasn’t gone on sale yet, but the internet has already started modifying it

Digital reinterpretation of the supercar

Every flagship car sooner or later finds someone who thinks it can be made even better. The GR GT is the pinnacle of Toyota’s engineering and the spiritual successor to the Lexus LFA. Despite the extremely long hood and low proportions, close to GT3 race cars, there are people who want to make it even more extreme, bringing it closer to the exotic supercars it competes with.

Independent designer Khyzyl Saleem is one of them. His first digital makeover of the GR GT, in his own words, is “just a little fat boy,” which greatly understates what he actually did to the car.

Extreme body kit and new wheels

The Japanese supercar received a custom body kit, new wheels, and a unique livery, elevating the visual drama to Lamborghini levels. The central styling element is the fender flares, which are smoothly integrated into the existing bodywork.

The flares are combined with a more aggressive carbon fiber splitter. On the sides, Saleem added louvers and additional fins along the sills. The biggest change occurred at the corners of the GR GT — a set of deep-dish BBS E88 wheels, and the car itself sits significantly lower to the ground.

The rear section appears unchanged, as the standard model already features a large ducktail spoiler, an aggressive diffuser, and four exhaust tips. The final touch chosen by the digital artist was a new color, combining a purple shade for the main body with a black roof.

Technical specifications and prospects

Saleem did not mention any performance upgrades, but the GR GT’s hybrid setup is powerful enough to support the sporty body kit. The car is equipped with a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine with a dry sump, producing at least 641 hp, and an electric motor adds extra acceleration. Toyota has yet to publish the total power output, although it has confirmed a top speed of over 320 km/h.

Deliveries of the first standalone model from Gazoo Racing are expected in 2027. Whether buyers will install tuning kits similar to Saleem’s work is another question. In any case, the Toyota flagship is the kind of car around which tuners usually start to circle.

This digital project demonstrates that even before the car hits the market, interest from the tuning industry is extremely high. Khyzyl Saleem’s work highlights that the GR GT has the potential to become not just a factory supercar but also a platform for bold individual projects. Given the historical propensity of fans to modify Japanese sports cars, it can be expected that after deliveries begin in 2027, the market will see a multitude of real, not just virtual, tuning options for this flagship.
