Toyota updates the JPN Taxi model: increased range and cutting-edge technologies

2025 Toyota JPN Taxi Update

The Japanese company Toyota has introduced an updated version of its popular JPN Taxi for 2025. The model, which has been sold on the domestic market for eight years, has received a number of improvements, particularly in comfort and safety.

Externally, the car remains unchanged—it features a high seating position, sliding doors, and a spacious interior. However, engineers have made adjustments to the technical aspects: the hybrid system is now equipped with a larger liquefied gas tank (58 liters instead of 52), which increases the driving range.

Interior Changes and Safety

The interior now features a new 7-inch digital instrument panel, improving readability. For rear passengers, the air conditioning system has been updated—they can now adjust the direction of airflow. An option for an external power source for the windshield has also been added.

As before, the JPN Taxi offers antibacterial seat upholstery, rear-seat heating, and the ability to transport a wheelchair in a three-seat configuration.

The Toyota Safety Sense system now better recognizes pedestrians, cyclists, and other vehicles in various conditions. Functions like lane-keeping assist and blind-spot monitoring have been added.

The updated taxi is already available for order in Japan. The base version starts at ¥3,455,100, while the top-tier Takumi trim costs ¥3,680,600. It is worth noting that all changes were made based on feedback from drivers and passengers who used the previous model. These updates make the JPN Taxi even more practical for daily use in urban traffic while preserving its key advantages—fuel efficiency and passenger comfort.
