Anniversary version of Toyota Corolla Sport for Japan
Toyota has introduced a special version of the Corolla Sport Active Elegance in Japan. This model is dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the Corolla model range. It offers an optional “Mustard” color and a premium interior with artificial suede.
Toyota continues to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Corolla by releasing new special versions. Earlier, the Active Sport appeared in sedan and station wagon body styles, as well as the off-road Corolla Cross Z Adventure. Now, the five-door Corolla Sport hatchback has received anniversary styling for the Japanese market.
Exterior and interior of the special version
The Toyota Corolla Sport G Z Active Elegance model is based on the top trim and has received a number of exterior and interior enhancements. The main feature is the exclusive two-tone color Black and Mustard. It helps the car stand out, although the design of the current twelfth-generation Corolla has barely changed since its debut in 2018. The special version is also available in Black, Platinum White Pearl Mica, or a more subdued Neutral Black.
The model has “60th Anniversary” emblems on the front fenders and a new set of 18-inch alloy wheels with a machined finish.
Interior and equipment
Inside, natural leather and Brannove material (similar to suede) are used in Chateau and Black colors with Smoke Silver accents. The anniversary logo is applied to the instrument panel. The Corolla also received aluminum pedals and sport seats.
In addition to the anniversary model, the top G Z trim is now standardly equipped with the same 18-inch wheels. The updated color palette includes shades of Dark Blue Mica, Neutral Black, as well as two-tone options of Platinum White Pearl Mica and Emotional Red III with a black roof.
Technical specifications and price
There are no changes under the hood. The 1.8-liter hybrid engine produces a total of 138 hp (103 kW / 140 hp). Power is transmitted exclusively to the front wheels via a CVT transmission.
The special 2026 Toyota Corolla Sport G Z Active Elegance version is already available for order in Japan at a price from ¥3,438,000 ($21,200). This is ¥218,000 ($1,300) more expensive than the regular G Z trim.
Thus, Toyota continues its strategy of maintaining interest in the Corolla model through the release of limited anniversary series. Although the technical component remains unchanged, the emphasis is on visual and tactile differences, allowing buyers to get a more exclusive car without significant engineering changes. The price of $21,200 makes this version an affordable premium offering on the Japanese market, especially given the limited nature of the release.
