Quiet Update Significantly Enhances Capabilities of Cadillac’s Most Affordable Electric Vehicle

2026 Cadillac Optiq Update

Cadillac has introduced an updated version of its 2026 Optiq electric vehicle. Key changes include the addition of an NACS port for charging at Tesla Supercharger stations, as well as new powertrain options. The base rear-wheel-drive variant now develops 315 hp and 450 Nm of torque, exceeding the figures of the previous all-wheel-drive version.

The all-wheel-drive model received an even more powerful engine — 440 hp and 674 Nm. The range is about 480 km, and fast charging allows for replenishing up to 127 km in 10 minutes. Furthermore, the updated Optiq was equipped with a “Vision Enhanced Parking” system, which uses cameras and radars to facilitate parking.

Technological Improvements

The car also received an updated Super Cruise system with Google Maps integration, automatic lane changing, and improved adaptive cruise control. The latter can now automatically adjust speed according to changes in road speed limits.

Interestingly, the system allows the driver to slightly exceed the speed limit — for example, to travel at 60 mph in a 55 mph zone. The new model is expected to go on sale by the end of this year, although Cadillac has not yet disclosed the exact price.

The Optiq updates show how Cadillac is trying to compete with Tesla and other electric vehicle manufacturers by offering not only more powerful hardware but also expanded capabilities for comfortable use. The integration with the Supercharger network is particularly noteworthy, as it significantly expands travel possibilities.
