In 2026, Ford Adds Mustang Style Elements to the Bronco Sport

Design Update for the Compact SUV

Ford is giving the Bronco Sport a desert charm with the new bronze package for the 2026 model. The compact SUV borrows ideas from the Mustang and Mustang Mach-E, which also offer similar stylings, adding bronze accents to the exterior and interior.

Trends in Automotive Design

According to Ford color and materials designer Kristen Keenan, the bronze shade has been appearing everywhere lately—from watches to sneakers—so it was only a matter of time before it made its way onto cars.

Besides the Mustang, the “Sinister Bronze” finish has already appeared on the full-size Bronco via Ford Custom Garage, but this is the first time the smaller Bronco Sport model receives such treatment.

Exterior Changes and Options

Exterior-wise, the Sinister Bronze shade is present on the 17-inch alloy wheels, which can be paired with off-road tires depending on the trim. The look is complemented by a bronze “Bronco” script on the grille and rear doors, outlined in Ebony Black, as well as matching accents on the side vents.

The package can be combined with several exterior colors, including the pictured Oxford White, as well as Carbonized Gray, Shadow Black, Velocity Blue, Space White, and Azure Gray Tri-Coat Metallic. Regardless of the choice, the roof remains black, and the door handles match the body color.

Interior Enhancements

Inside, the theme continues with bronze trim on the instrument panel, climate control vents, door panels, all-weather floor mats, and cargo area cover. Canyon stitching appears on the seats and steering wheel, adding a slight contrast.

Technical Specifications and Availability

Ford has not yet released detailed specifications for the 2026 Bronco Sport, but the powertrain lineup is expected to remain unchanged. The current configuration includes a turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine producing 180 horsepower and a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing 238 horsepower.

At the start of sales, the bronze package will be offered for the Bronco Sport Big Bend, and the Badlands trim will receive it later. It is also compatible with the Black Diamond Off-Road package. Prices for the 2026 model range will be announced closer to the release.

This package could become key to attracting young buyers who value individuality and current design trends. The use of bronze accents, which have already proven popular on other Ford models, allows the brand to maintain competitiveness in the compact SUV market without significant investment in updating the technical components.
