New Honda Prelude: Release Date and Features
The expected debut of the new generation Honda Prelude will take place in September 2025. The manufacturer has published new images of the hybrid coupe, as well as additional details about its design and available sports accessories.
The project’s creative director, Hideaki Uchino, noted that his dream was to create a new Prelude. The car’s design is inspired by gliders, which is particularly noticeable in the shape of the front end with LED headlights in the form of wings. Available body colors: Moonlit White Pearl, Meteoroid Gray Metallic, Crystal Black Pearl, and Flame Red.
Interior and Technologies
The Prelude’s interior features a 2+2 layout and unique front seats: the driver’s seat with increased support, and the passenger seat with an emphasis on comfort. Practicality is ensured by a large luggage compartment with additional organizers.
“This is a car you want to get behind the wheel of when you’re going somewhere with a special person,” said Yoshihisa Yanagimoto, responsible for interior design.
Sports Accessories and Technical Features
A sports body kit has already been developed for the Prelude, which includes aerodynamic elements, a spoiler, black mirrors, and new 19-inch wheels. The technical component is an e:HEV hybrid system with a 2.0-liter engine, which has received a simulated gear shifting function for a more emotional drive.
The car’s chassis uses components from the Civic Type R, but with a more comfortable tuning. The front Brembo brakes and double-wishbone suspension have unique settings specifically for the Prelude.
The new model is expected to go on sale in Japan, Europe, and North America in the autumn of 2025. Prices will be announced closer to the start of sales. Despite its sporty character, the Prelude is positioned as a comfortable coupe for everyday use, combining the emotions of driving with the environmental friendliness of a hybrid powertrain.
