The 2026 Corolla Cross for the USA Looks More Stylish, But Without a Key Feature

Following its global premiere, the compact Corolla Cross crossover has received updates for North America. The changes are minor but include useful improvements. Among the main innovations are a redesigned front end for the hybrid version and a larger multimedia display.

The hybrid modification now features an updated front bumper with a body-colored grille adorned with a honeycomb pattern. This repeats the style introduced last year. Similar changes have already been received by the European version, and the Japanese market expects them in the coming months.

The gasoline model has changed less noticeably. The grille has acquired a new design, giving the front a more substantial look, although the body remains virtually unchanged. New options are now available for the 18-inch alloy wheels: dark gray for the XLE trim and glossy black for the XSE. A new shade of blue for the body has also appeared, which can be combined with a black roof.

The GR Sport Version Will Not Come to the USA

Unfortunately, American buyers will not be able to purchase the GR Sport performance version recently introduced for Europe. This modification received aggressive body kit from Gazoo Racing and an improved suspension, but does not have additional power. Such a trim could have been an interesting addition to the model lineup.

Larger Multimedia Screen and Updated Technologies

The most noticeable change in the interior is the new 10.5-inch touchscreen for the multimedia system. It is standard equipment for XLE and XSE versions, and is available as an option for LE and SE. This is a significant improvement over the previous model’s 8-inch display. The screen is paired with a digital instrument panel of 7 or 12.3 inches depending on the trim.

The center console has been completely redesigned for a more ergonomic layout of elements and improved storage space. Among other technical updates are up to four USB-C ports, wireless charging, and a premium nine-speaker JBL audio system in the top versions. Safety is ensured by nine airbags and the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 suite of driver assistance systems.

Powertrains Remain Unchanged

The crossover’s technical underpinnings have not changed. The 2.0-liter gasoline engine produces 169 horsepower and is paired with a CVT, offering front-wheel or all-wheel drive. The hybrid version develops 194 hp, has a sport-tuned suspension, and standard all-wheel drive.

Production of the updated 2026 Toyota Corolla Cross will continue at the plant in Huntsville, Alabama. Pricing information will appear closer to the start of sales, which is expected this year.
