Unique Ferrari Testarossa by Franco Sbarro
In the early 2020s, speedsters became a real trend, but back in the 1990s, one Ferrari Testarossa owner decided to create something similar. The result was the most unusual version of this car, which can now be purchased.
The classic lines of the Testarossa with its characteristic side air intakes became a symbol of the 1980s. However, in 1995, Franco Sbarro presented a radically redesigned version: the chassis was shortened, and the body received more modern, streamlined shapes. The car lost its windshield, and the driver’s protection was provided by tubes, which also served to supply air to the rear section.
Technical Features
Under the hood remained the original 4.9-liter flat-12 engine producing 385 horsepower, paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. The instrument panel was moved to the center, and the seats were integrated into the body, reminiscent of modern hypercars.
Three cars were built, but this specimen is the only one to ever receive road registration.
This unique Ferrari Testarossa by Sbarro was shown only once in 1995, after which it spent a long time in a private collection. It is now located in Germany, and its price is discussed individually.
The car’s design evokes controversial impressions: some angles look elegant, while others may seem strange. However, it is this experimental nature that makes it a true find for collectors. It is worth noting that similar projects in the 1990s were rare, which only increases the value of this work by Franco Sbarro.
