Acura model lineup updates: the new NSX and other novelties
Acura is preparing a major update to its model lineup by the end of the decade. Among the expected novelties is a new version of the legendary NSX sports car, which will likely be electric. Official representatives previously announced that its release may occur in 2027–2028.
In 2023, at Monterey Car Week, Acura unveiled a concept that hinted at the future NSX. Honda’s executive vice president then stated:
“We may not call it NSX, but it will be a car of the same type”
. Rumors suggest the model will be developed on the 0 Series platform, which will also serve as the basis for other electric vehicles from the brand.
Other plans for Acura
In addition to the sports car, the company is preparing an update for the ZDX crossover in 2027, as well as a completely new MDX model in 2027–2028. Sedans will also not be overlooked: the TLX is expected to receive a new generation, and the Integra will get a successor by 2029.
The past year has shown that the Integra remains a popular model, ranking third in sales in the U.S. This confirms that Acura continues to bet on diversifying its lineup, combining traditional engines with electric technologies.
Plans to localize production of some models in the U.S. remain uncertain due to potential changes in customs policies. However, regardless of this, Acura is clearly preparing for a significant lineup refresh, which could change its position in the premium car market.
