Mass Parking of Teslas in California Causes Outrage Among Residents
Residents of the city of Signal Hill in California are facing an unusual problem – the streets of the district are literally filled with Tesla cars. Residents believe these are unsold cars from dealer inventory that are being moved around to avoid parking violations. One resident reported that the cars appeared suddenly, with over 20 counted on some streets.
The problem is compounded by the fact that parking in this area is already limited. Although the cars are not breaking the law, as they are moved every 72 hours, local residents are concerned about the situation. Tesla has previously used public parking lots to store its vehicles but has not officially commented on this incident.
Tesla uses the in process demolished chesterfield mall to store vehicles. Very ironic really.
A Similar Situation in Other Cities
This is not the first time Tesla has used public spaces to store its cars. Previously, the company placed vehicles on the grounds of a closed shopping mall and also faced criticism for similar actions in Michigan and Miami. Although there is no official confirmation from Tesla, identical car types and the presence of temporary license plates point to their involvement.
Journalists reached out to local authorities, towing companies, and the Tesla dealership itself but received no response. The company is known for ignoring media inquiries, so the situation remains unclear. To find out the truth, someone needs to speak directly with the people who are moving these cars.
This story raises questions about how large automakers can impact urban space. If Tesla is indeed systematically using public parking lots for its needs, it may require intervention from local authorities to protect the interests of residents.
