In Russia, the new Aurus Komendant was presented. The second model of the “Cortege” project is planned to be launched into production from 2023 and will be sold at a price starting at $584,200. This is reported by Focus.

Aurus Komendant 2023 is a full-size crossover with a length of 5,380 mm, a width of 2,004 mm, and a height of 1,820 mm, with a wheelbase of 3,100 mm. The design obviously copies the Rolls-Royce Cullinan — the Komendant has a similar rectangular chrome grille and elongated headlights. It is worth noting that the British SUV is almost half the price of its clone — its price starts from $325,000.

Despite its large size, the Aurus Komendant crossover is a four-seater. Two seats with electric drive, heating, and ventilation are installed at the front and rear. The rear seats cannot be folded to increase the trunk space.

The interior finish uses leather and wood. Two displays are installed on the front panel, as well as separate monitors for the rear passengers. The equipment includes a four-zone climate control system.

The SUV is positioned as an independent development, but in fact, the platform and power unit for Aurus were developed by Porsche. Like the Aurus Senat sedan, the crossover is equipped with a 598-horsepower hybrid setup with a 4.4-liter turbocharged V8 and an electric motor. The car weighs 3,235 kg, so with such power, the characteristics of the Aurus Komendant cannot be called outstanding — 6.5 seconds to a hundred and a maximum of 220 km/h.

The Aurus Komendant SUV received a 9-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. An air suspension with adjustable clearance ranging from 215-260 mm is also provided.

Aurus plans to produce 5,000 cars per year at the Yelabuga plant. This figure seems overly optimistic, as the start of production at the enterprise was delayed for two years, and in 2022, it assembled only 12 Aurus Senat cars. Part of the Komendant will be used to escort government corteges.
