by In the last month of summer, 5.8 thousand new passenger cars were added to the Ukrainian fleet, which is almost twice as much as a year earlier, reported Ukravtoprom. That is a record since February 24, 2022. Consumer activity in this segment of the automotive market increased by 9% compared to July. In August, the most popular were TOYOTA cars, with 1118 units registered. Compared to last year, the sale of new Toyotas in Ukraine in August increased by 49%. The second most popular brand was VOLKSWAGEN, with registrations almost quadrupling to 611 units. In third place in the ranking is RENAULT – 501 cars (+143%). BMW took the fourth place with 433 cars (+120%). Demand for SKODA cars increased by 145% to 394 cars, securing the fifth position. Hyundai topped the list with 289 units; SUZUKI – 208 units; AUDI – 188 units; MERCEDES-BENZ – 186 units; NISSAN – 177 units. The title of bestseller in the new passenger car market in August went to the RENAULT Duster – 473 registrations. In total, from January to August 2023, Ukrainians bought and registered 38.2 thousand new passenger cars, which is 56% more than in the same period last year.
