Visitors of the car festival Old Car Land were able to see not only retro cars but also a couple of interesting homemade vehicles. Ukrainian craftsmen created vehicles for the most challenging conditions.
The first car is a true amphibious vehicle, built back in 1980. The vehicle is based on the chassis of the UAZ-469, and its windshield is also borrowed from it. At the back, there is an open area with a tent.
The UAZ amphibious vehicle was continuously improved and eventually equipped with a 3.0-liter Mercedes OM606 turbodiesel engine with 174 hp. The propeller allows it to reach 15 km/h on water.
The off-road vehicle named Jeep Shamir also uses Mercedes-Benz components and a 3.0-liter turbodiesel. It was created in Bila Tserkva on the chassis of the famous Mercedes Unimog 404, so good off-road capability is guaranteed.
In design, the car resembles a Hummer pickup rather than a Jeep. It has four doors and a small cargo platform. Additionally, it features high ground clearance, large suspension travel, and off-road tires.
