In Odessa, a 1980 Mazda RX-7 has been put up for sale. The famous Japanese sports car is priced at $7500.
The first-generation Mazda RX-7 is, of course, rare in our parts, but the price is suspiciously low. The fact is that under the coupe’s hood is not the original rotary-piston engine (they are not known for longevity), but a 1.8-liter turbocharged four CA18DET with 178 hp from a Nissan 200 SX.
The exhaust and power steering were also borrowed from Nissan.
Additionally, 15-inch SSR Formula Mesh wheels with Toyo tires are installed.
The Mazda RX-7 has its original paint and interior. The equipment includes a sunroof and power windows. The car was recently stored in a garage, driven only in warm weather, and often attended various car shows.
