The State Fund for Invention Support at the Ministry of Economic Development issued a grant for the first time to a schoolgirl. A student of the Minor Academy of Sciences Anastasia Kononenko received 500 thousand hryvnias for an interesting automotive device. 
The gadget developed by Anastasia is designed to save children or animals forgotten in a locked car. It’s hard to believe, but according to the organization Forget Me Not, 532 children died in locked cars in the US alone from 1998 to 2012. The device consists of motion, temperature, and sound sensors, as well as a microcontroller.
When it detects the presence of a passenger or animal in the car, it automatically starts the engine and turns on climate control to maintain the necessary temperature in the cabin. 
The young inventor dreams that her creation will be installed in cars straight from the factory and save lives. She plans to spend the state grant on testing the gadget, developing a business model, and presentation materials. Moreover, Anastasia Kononenko will be able to participate in the second stage of the state competition. There, the prize is already 2 million hryvnias.
