Ukrainian media workers and public representatives held a hackathon for children of servicemen at the Eko-Life ZBRUCH summer camp

Journalists from Ukrainian media and public representatives held a two-day hackathon for children of servicemen at the Eko-Life ZBRUCH summer camp in Khmelnytskyi. During the creative weekend, camp guests talked about the specifics of professions of correspondents, editors, operators, and other important team members of Ukrainian media, shared personal experiences and professional life hacks. The most interest among teenagers was sparked by journalists’ interactives: master classes, during which participants had the opportunity to try themselves as interviewers, take part in quizzes, discussions, and dialogues with journalists. Over 40 creative and talented children of our military from eight communities of the Khmelnytskyi region gathered to listen to the stories of media representatives. Among them were participants and winners of school Olympiads and competitions in the humanitarian field, leaders of school self-government. Auto journalist Taras Bryzgunov, during a question-and-answer session, told the children of servicemen about the work of automotive journalists, causing a stir among the audience. The hackathon was the final event of the 2024 season. This year, master classes were already held at the Eko-Life ZBRUCH camp by representatives of the State Emergency Service, border guards, police officers, dog handlers, medics, doctors, and chefs. Now journalists have been added to this list. ‘We are extremely pleased that we managed to invite representatives of Ukrainian media to the children. We are grateful to every media representative who spent time sharing knowledge and invaluable experience with our teenagers. Our plans include gathering the most active children according to the weekend results and organizing excursions to the editorial offices of leading publications, as well as creating our own media for a children’s camp,’ added PR manager of the VITAGRO group of companies Yaroslav Sviridovsky. About the Eko-Life ZBRUCH project: In 2022, on the banks of the Zbruch River in the Khmelnytskyi region, a section was cleared and a recreation base for children of servicemen was built ‘from scratch’. The project provides children with recovery and support in wartime. And parents who perform tasks on the front line know that there is someone to take care of the children. The base offers active recreation, creative workshops, and educational programs. In 2 years, the project has tripled in scale. Eko-Life ZBRUCH is a project of the VITAGRO group of companies.
