Ukrainian Electric Car Kozak EV Spotted on Public Roads (Photo)

A TopGir reader captured an unusual electric car, Kozak EV, on our roads. Its uniqueness lies in the fact that on one hand it clearly resembles a Tavria, on the other hand, technically the car’s internals are completely different.

The Kozak EV was developed by enthusiasts from Dnipro who decided to try themselves as startups. In 2019, a group of like-minded individuals decided to make an affordable electric car for business, and for obvious reasons, they chose ZAZ, which was already out of production.

Instead of an internal combustion engine, the ‘DIY’ received an electric motor with a control unit, a voltage converter controller, and of course, a battery. Additionally, an electronic dashboard was installed in the cabin. The total cost amounted to almost 5000 dollars. And on such an “electric vehicle” the guys even conquered Berlin, traveling there from Dnipro with spare batteries in tow.

According to the creators, the Ukrainian electric car Kozak can travel up to 200 kilometers without recharging, and for its full charge, a regular 220-volt outlet and 6 hours of time are sufficient. It’s not surprising that such a product found its buyer – as its developers claim, the car decided to be placed on a mini conveyor, where half a dozen commercial cars were assembled and several more are in process.

And now we have a question – why the electric Tavria, made long before the electric car boom, was never revived at ZAZ, which instead is currently producing cars from machine kits of Russian production..?
