Soon, Ukrainians will be able to order license plates through web applications. Let’s recall, this regulation came into effect on September 14 and three months must pass from the date of publication for it to become active. The team at the Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is already working on implementing this new online service.
This is about the possibility to order available license plates at the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ service centers online, which are issued at the request of car owners and contain a specific combination of numbers (four identical numbers, three identical numbers, two consecutive pairs of identical numbers, etc.) as well as license plates with a specific combination of numbers determined by the applicant.
In addition, license plates can now be reassigned to relatives’ vehicles. This means that if the owner wishes to keep their license plate within the family, it is now possible. Previously, the law stated that license plates could only be retained by the vehicle owner. Now, it is possible to reassign your license plates to your children’s, spouse’s, or parents’ vehicles.
The reassigned license plates must comply with the current established requirements regarding the indication of administrative-territorial affiliation, serial number, and series. To transfer them to relatives, documents confirming such family relationships need to be submitted.
