by Ukrzaliznytsia purchased two Audi A8 Long cars costing 4.5 million hryvnias each. An interesting fact was uncovered by a member of the company’s supervisory board, Serhii Leshchenko.
Moreover, money for the Audi A8 was spent, which was initially intended for the repair of a diesel train (by the way, the sedans are also diesel). The transaction was arranged under the previous management of Ukrzaliznytsia and without a tender – through an insurance company, of which a branch of the Odessa railway is a founder.
According to Serhii Leshchenko, the cars were bought for one of the first people of the state and even listed on the balance sheet of the Odessa railway. However, they were not used as they feared public outcry.
So the new Audi A8 Long cars are now standing and gathering dust in the parking lot. An inspection was appointed for their purchase, but it is being delayed.
