by The Ukrainian website TopGir has put up for sale exclusive autographs of Clarkson, May, and Hammond. Ukraine has sold almost anything to raise funds for the Armed Forces, but this is unprecedented! The uniqueness of this artifact lies in the fact that it dates back to 2013 when Top Gear visited Ukraine on the eve of the temporary occupation of Crimea.
Then (just a few months before the events in Crimea), the British visited the Yalta Palace and drove around the Balaklava Submarine Base by car. After this, ironically, Jeremy and his team had some beers in Mykolaiv, when nobody had yet heard of Vitalii Kim.
Since the visit of the British was not publicized, it was essentially the domestic TopGir that became one of the first to tell about their visit. The meeting itself took place in the village of Mytnytsia, 30 kilometers from Kyiv, near a Ukrainian restaurant.
During the Kyiv visit, the Top Gear team took a ride on Chaika, which was bombed in the spring of 2022 by you know who. Then Top Gear headed to Chernobyl. And as you know, the Chernobyl NPP became one of the first points where the Russians invaded after the full-scale invasion. So, looking at the British’s route at the end of 2013, it turns out that almost all the locations they visited suffered in some way from the Orcs’ invasion. However, part of the history survived – the autographs of all Top Gear presenters. These were miraculously captured as they preserved Ukraine’s appearance as we all, Ukrainians, are accustomed to.
By the way, at the start of the war, Jeremy Clarkson made a quite harsh statement towards Putin and eventually began to help Ukraine with pickups and humanitarian aid. However, it is not just this way that he and his team have helped and are helping Ukraine – the funds raised from the sale of these autographs will go to the purchase of a pickup for the infantry of unit A7085, which will be delivered by the brave guys from the charitable foundation Territory of Life, as well as to purchase something useful for the 241st brigade.
