LAZ is renowned for its numerous bus models, but few people know that there were attempts to produce cars in Lviv. In the early 90s, a prototype of the LAZ-3210 minivan was created there.
The nine-seater minivan was showcased in 1994 at the “Ukrainian Bus-94” exhibition.
The LAZ-3210 was 4.5 meters long and weighed 1800 kg. Its body was made of fiberglass mounted on a frame. Interestingly, the headlights were taken from the Tavria.
The LAZ car was equipped with a 70-horsepower Polish Andria engine and a 5-speed manual transmission. The rear axle was taken from the UAZ-452, and the suspension and steering were from the Volga.
The LAZ minibus was planned to be sold at an affordable price of $7500. However, due to economic problems, it was never launched into mass production.
