In Ukraine, a very unusual 1987 Zaporozhets is up for sale. To be precise, it is no longer a ZAZ-968M, but a real California-style beach buggy.
The original homemade car is being sold in the city of Izyum (Kharkiv region). It closely resembles the Volkswagen Beetle-based buggies that were popular in the USA in the 60s and 70s.
The ZAZ has open wheels, lacks doors and a roof, but features roll bars and even a spoiler. Inside the cabin, there is a steering wheel and seats from a Tavria.
Naturally, the car is rear-engined and is equipped with a 900cc ZAZ engine that develops 27 hp in the Zaporozhets. It is paired with a 4-speed manual transmission.
Strangely enough, the ZAZ’s price is quite high – 200 thousand hryvnias. For this amount, you could buy a Lanos.
