Rare racing Ferrari F40 up for auction
The Ferrari F40, now available at auction, combines both road and racing qualities. Initially, this car was an ordinary production model, but it was later modified for racing. Only 27 such modified F40s exist.
In the late 1990s, the owner made significant changes, including installing fixed headlights and upgrading the engine. While the standard F40 produced 471 hp, after the modifications, the power increased to 648 hp. This allowed the car to compete with models like the Lister Storm and Viper GTS-R back in the 2000s.
Current condition and specifications
Today, this F40 regularly participates in track days, historic races, and auto shows. For example, it last hit the track in Imola. Unlike many collector Ferraris that rarely leave the garage, this car is ready for active use.
Moreover, the buyer will receive not only the car itself but also a complete set of spare parts: body panels, cylinder heads, valve covers, manifolds, and intercoolers. Such parts can serve as backup for repairs or as interesting collector’s items.
This F40 is a true example of how a legendary car can remain relevant on the track decades after its release. Its technical condition and history make it a unique offering for motorsport enthusiasts and collectors.
