A unique Acura NSX Roadster, which Robert Downey Jr. drove in the “Avengers” movie, will be put up for a charity auction. The car will be presented at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, this week. This is reported by Carscoops.
The sale will take place through the Cars & Bids platform, which has become the official auction of the event. All proceeds from the sale of the car will go to a charity of the buyer’s choice. Acura will also make an additional contribution to the Sundance Institute to support independent filmmakers.
The Acura NSX Roadster was Created Based on a 1991 Model
Despite its external resemblance to the second-generation NSX, the roadster is built on a chassis from a 1991 first-generation model with 405,555 kilometers on the odometer. The body was handmade from resin and fiberglass to match the movie concept. The ground clearance was reduced by 5 centimeters, and 18-inch wheels were installed. The interior has retained almost all of the original NSX trim, except for a pair of non-original seats.
The Acura NSX Will be Presented at the Sundance Film Festival Alongside the MDX and ADX
The car will be showcased during the annual fundraising event at the Grand Hyatt Deer Valley hotel. This is not the only Acura at the festival — the MDX crossover has become the official vehicle of the event and will be used at various functions and premieres. The compact ADX will also be shown at the festival.
