Police Received a Supercar
The Casselberry Police Department in Florida has added a McLaren 720S to its vehicle fleet – one of the fastest supercars in the world. The car will have a special purpose and will not be used in pursuits or patrols.
Purpose and Design
The white McLaren 720S received an official police livery, which includes a large emblem on the hood and sides, as well as blue and black accents. Emergency flashing lights are installed on the windshield. The car will be used exclusively for public education events and interaction with residents.
Source of Acquisition
The police did not purchase this exclusive vehicle. The McLaren Orlando dealership provided the supercar to the department free of charge. It is unknown whether the dealer also financed the livery application and installation of special equipment.
Public Reaction
The appearance of the car sparked a wave of discussions on social media. Some residents initially feared that the police had spent budget funds on an expensive sports car, but it later turned out that this was not the case.

Other Similar Cases
This is not the first time that Florida police units have received exclusive cars. Earlier this year, the state highway patrol added a 2023 Chevrolet Corvette C8 to its fleet, which was confiscated by the Drug Enforcement Administration.
The use of prestigious cars for police work has its own characteristics in different regions. In Europe, for example, police often use high-speed cars for autobahn patrols, while in the USA such an approach is less common. Social media continues to actively discuss this initiative, expressing both support and criticism regarding the advisability of using such cars even for community outreach purposes.
