A “gem” of the Soviet auto industry has been spotted in the USA. A blue 1983 Lada 2106 with a red interior, brought to America from Georgia, has been listed on the Bring a Trailer auction. However, it wasn’t the 24,000-mile mileage or the engine rebuilt in 2023 that attracted the most attention. It was the license plate. A very telling one. The plate bears a short but universally understood message: idi nahu.
Perhaps this is the state of the owner’s soul. Or perhaps the Lada itself, after years of operation, has finally articulated what it thinks about its life.
The irony is that now this Soviet sedan with such a message on its plate is being sold not near garages or on OLX, but at an American auction alongside Porsches, Ferraris, and Mustangs.
