In Britain, police slack off by selling confiscated supercars

TopGir has already mentioned that in many European countries even a very expensive supercar can be easily towed. It’s a different story in our country—in Ukraine, it’s not uncommon to see a traffic cop pressuring the owner of a flashy car. But in Britain, they can deal with such owners very harshly—up to selling their beloved car!

It seems the London police are not only issuing draconian fines but also mastering the craft of selling expensive supercars. Recently, British law enforcement auctioned off a confiscated Lamborghini Aventador—for almost half its price!

The orange Lamborghini Aventador was stopped by police during a citywide crackdown on unregistered vehicles.

It turned out the car not only lacked a license plate but also had no insurance or even a registration certificate. As a result, the car, worth about $600,000, was confiscated and sent to an impound lot. The owner of the Aventador never bothered to retrieve his car by providing the necessary documents. Consequently, the police wasted no time putting the Aventador up for auction and eventually sold the unique ride (which exists in Ukraine, by the way) for $352,000. And no charity here—all proceeds will go toward funding the London police themselves.
