by In Estonia, a unique car has been put up for sale — a GAZ-31013 “Volga” with a V8 engine, created specifically for the needs of the KGB of the USSR. This sedan, with a mileage of only 280 kilometers, is a true time capsule and has been preserved in its original condition.
The GAZ-31013 is a special version of the Volga, based on the 3102 model but equipped with a 5.5-liter V8 engine from the “Chaika” with an output of 195 hp. It is paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. The car is capable of accelerating to 165 km/h and reaches 100 km/h in 13 seconds.
To withstand such a load, the Volga was modified: the front suspension springs were reinforced, the body was strengthened, and larger disc brakes were installed. All this made it not only fast but also quite reliable for the official tasks of the Soviet special services.
The condition of this particular specimen deserves special attention. The car has been preserved without any restorations or even repaints. The velour interior looks like new, and the technical fluids have not been changed since production. For the last 20 years, the car has been in a private collection.
The asking price for this so-called “chase car” is 49,900 euros. In reality, for a car with such a history and in time capsule condition, it is an adequate price.
