Bugatti is recalling a batch of Chiron, Chiron Sport, and Divo hypercars in the USA for service. A total of 77 cars will go to service, which is considerable for a low-volume manufacturer.
Notably, the reasons for recalling the cars vary. For instance, 73 Bugatti Chiron and Chiron Sport cars were found to have a defect in the ESP system – after switching off the ignition, it does not return to the standard mode. This could lead to an accident if, for example, the stability control system is turned off and the car is started in the rain.
The Bugatti Divo hypercar has a more serious issue – it has a defective driveshaft. However, there are only four such cars. Interestingly, this is not the first recall for the Bugatti Chiron – a few years ago they already fixed weak seat mountings. So even cool, exclusive, hand-assembled hypercars are sometimes called for service to fix defects.
