In Kyiv, the first electric bus began operation. It will run on route 599 between Kharkivska metro station and Sheptytsky Street, reports Typical Kyiv.
The electric minibus was built in China by Skywell and was presented in our country in spring at the Plug-In Ukraine exhibition. It provides 27 seated and 23 standing places.
The Skywell electric bus is equipped with an electric motor with a power of 150 kW (204 hp) and a lithium iron phosphate battery of 200 kWh.
The battery can withstand 4500 charge-discharge cycles, so theoretically it will last for 12 years of operation. So far, only one such bus is in operation in the capital, as it is not cheap – it costs 280 thousand dollars.
