The Chinese auto industry has given birth to another clone. This time a copy of the Toyota Land Cruiser 200 was made and the car was named Hengtian L4600. Its sales start in the fall.
The Hengtian company once produced Cruisers at the FAW-Toyota joint venture. Moreover, the Hengtian L4600 is built on the Toyota Land Cruiser platform, although this copy is unlicensed – the Japanese did not give permission.
From the outside, the Chinese SUV closely resembles the 200th Cruiser, though the grille is fashioned in the style of the 2019 Toyota Prado. Also, the Chinese version is significantly larger than the original – 5239 mm long, 2026 mm wide, and 1932 mm high.
However, the interior of the Hengtian L4600 is quite original – with square instrument dials and a large touchscreen. Versions with 5 and 7 seats will be offered.
Under the hood is a 4.6-liter 286-horsepower V8 engine, paired with an automatic transmission.
The price of the Chinese Cruiser has not yet been announced, but it is expected to be about 30-40 thousand dollars.
