At the Lutsk automobile plant, they are considering the possibility of resuming the production of amphibians. The iconic amphibious LuAZ-967 may receive a modern version.
The intention to revive the amphibian was announced today, April 1. The LuAZ-967 will change little and remain a simple and unpretentious vehicle. In Lutsk, they are considering the possibility of installing an electric motor on the SUV.
The plant already has experience in producing electric buses and trucks for the European market.
It is expected that the LuAZ amphibian will be cheap – no more than 10 thousand dollars. The company hopes that orders for the electric vehicle will come from law enforcement agencies and the State Emergency Service.
