In Odessa, a Unique Moskvich Was Made for Vladimir Putin

This particular specimen is the result of long and meticulous handwork by an Odessa resident with a not very Odessa-like name – Grigor Avetisyan. According to him, he invested over $100 thousand into this ‘Pirozhok’ (a nickname for the Moskvich car) and spent 11 years on it. He says Russian oligarchs have already shown interest in the car—offering a million dollars for it.

Of course, we know Odessa humor, so we ‘believe’ such claims wholeheartedly. But that’s not the point. The ‘super-pirozhok’ has a 2.4-liter engine.

The hood is adorned with a jeweled figurine of a double-headed eagle. Grigor Avetisyan says he deliberately made it identical to the one on the Russian coat of arms. ‘I cast it from Russian kopecks. I didn’t count how many coins went into it,’ the craftsman says. The interior features leather and oak.

Grigor Avetisyan dreams that Vladimir Putin would ride in this luxurious car…

For the effort—a solid A. For the imagination too, but we much prefer other exclusive ‘Ukrainian’ cars.
