by In Seattle (USA), a 1990 Lancia Thema 8.32 sports sedan is up for sale. This is a truly rare collector’s model, with only 2370 units produced, but this particular car is interesting because it arrived in America from Ukraine.
Our reader mentioned in a letter that the Lancia Thema 8.32 previously “resided” in Odessa and was the only such car in Ukraine. The main feature of the model lies under the hood – a 2.9-liter 32-valve Ferrari V8 with 215 hp. The same engine was also used in the Ferrari 308 and Mondial sports cars.
With the 5-speed manual transmission, acceleration to 100 km/h takes 6.8 seconds, and the top speed is 240 km/h. The car’s suspension has been upgraded, and the interior features leather and wood trimming. The declared mileage is 100,000 km.
The Ukrainian owner once mentioned that the car was found in a remote village in not the best condition, and was then restored. Notably, the Lancia Thema 8.32 was sold in Odessa a year ago for 5000 dollars, while in the USA, it is now priced at $15,000.
Incidentally, not long ago, a similar Lancia sedan was sold by Rowan Atkinson, the actor who played Mr. Bean. And he certainly knows a thing or two about rare cars.
