“Together with military administrations, the National Police, and tax authorities, inspections of business entities operating in the retail fuel market have begun,” writes the State Consumer Service. According to the department, price gouging in the context of martial law is unacceptable, and violations of business conduct rules will have consequences in the form of fines.
“In recent days, reports of excessively high prices, lack of payment documents, refusal of free choice of payment methods, and the like have begun to arrive from all regions. By order of the Prime Minister of Ukraine, the Main Departments of the State Consumer Service, together with military administrations, the National Police, and tax authorities have started inspections of business entities operating in the retail fuel market,” the statement says.

As of today, some gas stations were selling diesel at 70-90 UAH per liter (for those without coupons or fuel cards), and 95-grade gasoline at 65-80 UAH (although, according to rumors, there are cases of gasoline being resold for 100 UAH/l). Regarding the shortage, hoping to refuel 10-20 liters of fuel, “ordinary mortals” stand in line for 4-5 hours, but not everyone gets enough – sometimes the pumps stop right in the middle of refueling cars.
