In Kharkiv, a well-preserved 1984 Toyota Corolla Sprinter with a right-hand drive was discovered. Over 36 years, the car traveled only 68.5 thousand km.
The time capsule was discovered by blogger Roma Urraco. The most amazing thing is that the car still has Soviet registration. It was registered in 1990 when any foreign cars on Ukrainian roads were a rarity.
It turns out that a batch of Toyota Corollas was received by the Kharkiv “Radio Relay” plant as barter. One of the plant’s employees became the car’s first owner.
The Toyota Corolla Sprinter is equipped with a 1.3-liter carburetor engine with 75 hp and a 4-speed manual transmission. By the way, the car has air conditioning, which was fantastic for the USSR.
The car has been excellently preserved and is almost entirely original.
However, the typical Japanese mirrors from the hood were removed and replaced with ordinary ones—from another car.
