In Ukraine, the only ZAZ Perspektiva in the world will be restored (photo)

The unique car of the Zaporozhye Automobile Plant is being brought to a new state. Many car enthusiasts, let alone ordinary car lovers, do not even know about this model. The ZAZ Perspektiva was released at the end of the 1970s.

Only three of these cars were produced, but only one specimen has “survived” to our time! Previously, it belonged to “AvtoZAZ” tester Koshkin Ivan Pavlovich.

Until today, it stood in the “Time Machines” museum in Dnipro, but now it is being sent to a restoration workshop to get a “makeover” and be painted. Several color options are currently being considered: ochre golden, white, and cherry!

The ZAZ Perspektiva is considered a Ukrainian prototype of subcompacts, weighing less than a ton and having front-wheel drive.

As TopGir found out, despite the car’s economy, compactness, and theoretical affordability, the USSR leadership did not accept the development because the conceptual ZAZ had sports car features. Simply put, it did not look “popular.” The result – the project was closed. Ironically, the car with the promising name Perspektiva was deemed unpromising…incidentally, a similar fate befell the ZAZ with an electric power plant. This refers to the great-grandfather of Tesla, the electric Zaporozhets of 1973.
