Car Registration Suspended in Ukraine Due to Coronavirus

Service centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Ukraine have temporarily suspended operations. It is not difficult to guess that the reason was the coronavirus epidemic.

As reported by the Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the reception of citizens is temporarily suspended from March 19 to April 3 and a special work schedule is introduced mainly in online mode.

Citizen reception will be conducted only in emergency cases:

– for registration, re-registration, and deregistration of vehicles exclusively for medical and diplomatic institutions;
– for re-registration of vehicles due to loss or theft of the technical passport;
– for restoration of driver’s licenses in case of loss or theft.
Such services will be provided by duty service centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs according to a special schedule. Their list and contacts can be found on the website.

A range of services are provided through the electronic driver’s cabinet:

– verification of driver’s license and technical passport data;
– assignment of an appropriate user;
– checking for and paying fines;
– checking vehicles by VIN code;
– restoration and exchange of licenses (they will be issued after the quarantine ends);
– online order of a certificate of no criminal record (it will be sent in electronic form).
