Starting from September 27, parking reform commences in Ukraine. We will remind you of the most significant changes that await motorists.
Firstly, today in Ukraine, photo and video recording of traffic violations has returned. So far, it concerns only parking violations, although automatic speed control is promised soon (for the umpteenth time).
The fine can be issued in absentia, and a copy of the resolution must be left on the windshield. The original should arrive by mail to the owner within three days in the so-called “happy letter.”
By the way, fines will be imposed by both police officers and municipal parking inspectors. They should appear over time.
Secondly, tow trucks have returned to the roads. Cars planned to create obstacles or danger for other road users are to be taken to the impound lot.
Mainly, fines for improper parking remain the same – from 255 to 510 hryvnias. However, if you left your car in a paid parking spot and didn’t pay for it, you will have to pay an amount equal to 20 hours of parking.
