Rare Vintage Mopeds Revived in Ukraine

The Kiev studio AC Heritage has restored rare mopeds from the Lviv motorcycle factory. Few of them remain, and a significant part are in collections abroad. Vintage mopeds production resumed in Ukraine

More specifically, it’s about the LVZ V-902 from 1958, LZM MV-042 “Lvivyanka” from 1963, and LZM MV-044 from 1966, as reported by Auto-Consulting. They are indeed rarities now. Vintage mopeds production resumed in Ukraine

The LVZ V-902 was the first motorized vehicle produced in Lviv.

It was developed in Kharkiv and equipped with a 45 cc D4 engine, producing only 1 hp. Its top speed was 50 km/h, and fuel consumption was 1.5 liters. Vintage mopeds production resumed in Ukraine

The LZM MV-042 “Lvivyanka” was created in-house and equipped with a more powerful 1.2-horsepower D5 engine. The moped had a modern design, and its top speed was 40 km/h. Notably, the restored unit is an exhibition specimen with a two-tone paint job.

The LZM MV-044 succeeded the “Lvivyanka”. From a technical standpoint, it wasn’t much different, but it was styled in the techno fashion of the time. Vintage mopeds production resumed in Ukraine

By the way, no one else in the USSR produced motorcycles with a similar design. The MV-044 didn’t stay on the conveyor for long, from 1966 to 1968. Features of the model included a spacious 3.8-liter fuel tank, providing a range of 190 km.
