Rare Vintage Mopeds Revived in Ukraine

The Kiev studio AC Heritage has restored rare mopeds from the Lviv motorcycle factory. Few of them remain, and a significant part are in collections abroad. Vintage mopeds production resumed in Ukraine

More specifically, it’s about the LVZ V-902 from 1958, LZM MV-042 “Lvivyanka” from 1963, and LZM MV-044 from 1966, as reported by Auto-Consulting. They are indeed rarities now.

The LVZ V-902 was the first motorized vehicle produced in Lviv.

It was developed in Kharkiv and equipped with a 45 cc D4 engine, producing only 1 hp. Its top speed was 50 km/h, and fuel consumption was 1.5 liters.

The LZM MV-042 “Lvivyanka” was created in-house and equipped with a more powerful 1.2-horsepower D5 engine. The moped had a modern design, and its top speed was 40 km/h. Notably, the restored unit is an exhibition specimen with a two-tone paint job.

The LZM MV-044 succeeded the “Lvivyanka”. From a technical standpoint, it wasn’t much different, but it was styled in the techno fashion of the time.

By the way, no one else in the USSR produced motorcycles with a similar design. The MV-044 didn’t stay on the conveyor for long, from 1966 to 1968. Features of the model included a spacious 3.8-liter fuel tank, providing a range of 190 km.
