At the Retro Motor Fest in Zaporizhzhia, a very rare ZIL-118 Yunost was shown. It is worth noting that only slightly more than a hundred of these buses were produced.
This ZIL-118 was produced in 1994 and is one of the last. It was purchased by the Crimean government for the state dacha “Zarya,” which was later used by President Leonid Kuchma. In 2006, the ZIL bus was transferred to the Simferopol Vocational-Construction Lyceum, and then it was bought by a private collector from Donetsk.
Now the ZIL 118 Yunost is in Zaporizhzhia.
Let us remind you that the 18-seater bus was produced starting in 1964 and even caught the interest of Henry Ford II, but mass production could not be established. The ZIL-118s were used to service official delegations. The bus belongs to the restyled series and features an angular design in the style of the GAZ-14 Chaika and ZIL-117. It is equipped with a 7-liter V8 ZIL-130 with 150 hp and a 3-speed automatic transmission.
By the way, this is not the only such bus in Ukraine. Earlier, an earlier 1964 ZIL-118 was sold in the capital at an incredible price.
