New MG models were presented in Ukraine. The well-known British brand, now owned by the Chinese SAIC corporation, is returning to our market. Sales will start in September.
The official importer of MG will be Winner Imports Ukraine, and 12 brand dealerships will be opened throughout Ukraine by the end of the year (with the prospect of increasing their number to 28). By the way, Ukraine is the first in Eastern Europe where the brand’s representative office opens. Four models will be available from the start.

The most affordable is the 4.6-meter C-class sedan MG5, costing 13,500-17,200 dollars. It is equipped with a 1.5-liter 115-horsepower gasoline engine and a 5-speed manual transmission or a CVT. Even in the base version, there is air conditioning and a rearview camera, and in the top version, there is an electric drive and heated seats, as well as a 360-degree camera.

The same engine is installed under the hood of the compact 4.3-meter crossover MG ZS. It costs 16,500-22,700 dollars and is also richly equipped, and quite spacious for its size, with a fairly large 448-liter trunk and a comfortable suspension. A variant with a 1.3-liter turbo engine is promised later.

The MG ZS EV electric vehicle will be available right away. The crossover is equipped with a 140-horsepower electric motor and has a driving range of 263 km. Feelings after the first trip are that the car accelerates quite briskly (according to the passport – 8.5 s to a hundred) and it’s quiet.
With a price of $34,000, the MG ZS EV crossover is one of the most affordable new electric cars on the market. It is offered in one, but a rich version with a leather interior, panoramic roof, electric drive and heated seats, camera, parking sensors, as well as a set of safety systems (lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, sign recognition).

The most expensive so far is the MG HS crossover ($20,300-22,500). This 4.5-meter car can easily become an inexpensive alternative to the Kia Sportage or Nissan Qashqai. So far, a 1.5-liter 169-horsepower front-wheel-drive variant with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission has been brought in, but a two-liter 231-horsepower all-wheel-drive version will appear later.

Although, according to impressions, the 1.5-liter engine is quite sufficient for the crossover, especially since the robot works quite quickly. In the second row, it is quite spacious for such sizes. And the configuration is not bad – the base has a panoramic roof, electric drive, and seat heating. By the way, the MG HS and ZS EV received 5 stars in EuroNCAP crash tests.

Soon, the MG lineup in Ukraine will be expanded by the Marvel R electric crossover. The brand places high hopes on it in Europe. It is all-wheel-drive and has two engines with a total power of 288 hp. Acceleration to a hundred takes 4.9 s, and the driving range is 370 km according to the WLTP cycle. The estimated cost of the electric vehicle is 40-50 thousand euros.

Also in the future, a large D-class crossover and even an electric roadster are expected. By the way, gasoline models of MG in Ukraine will have a 5-year warranty, and electric ones – a 7-year one.
