Real “auto museums” are appearing more and more frequently on Ukrainian roads – recently, an autotransporter was spotted carrying three legendary cars: a BMW 2002tii Alpina A4 Tribute, a BMW Alpina B9 (E28), and a Mercedes-Benz 500SL AMG (R129). Each of them is not just a car, but a rare specimen that is sometimes worth even more than new premium vehicles.
The BMW 2002tii Alpina / Tribute model belongs to the classic cars of the 1970s-80s and was produced in very limited quantities or as “tributes” based on originals. Because of this, even in good condition, such cars can be valued at half a hundred thousand dollars or more – and it is not uncommon for their price to exceed that of a modern luxury SUV.
The BMW Alpina in the E28 body (B9 version) is another rare “swallow”. Given that the base E28 models are already objects of collection, versions with Alpina modifications and preserved original equipment can cost significantly more, especially among enthusiasts.
The Mercedes 500SL AMG (R129 series) is a 1990s roadster with a sporty character. The AMG versions further enhance its status. In good condition, such cars are also capable of reaching prices comparable to modern high-class sports cars.
